Leadership Circle
The Leadership Circle is responsible for overall direction and governance CapChurch. We are led primarily by two teams :
- Pastoral and ministry team (under the direction of copastors Mike Nichols and Kim Pierrot) with the responsibility of immediate ministry.
- Elders team (leadership men and women where the leadership changes) with the task of spiritual oversight and care of pastors and ministers.
Our Leadership Circle oversee pastoral staff, approves and monitors budget, deals with problems as they arise (and seeks to anticipate and avoid them whenever possible) and, most importantly, are responsible for the vision and direction of our church and its mission, vision, and values.
Each member of the various teams is selected for spiritual, personal, and relational maturity, along with special gifts or skills needed by the team. There is no prescribed term for service in any of our leadership teams. The ability to submit to one another and work towards a common good is considered a high value.
Ministry Leaders
But that is not all of our leaders. We also have ministry leaders (we use to call them Deacons) who oversee and lead ministries such as
- Finance
- Compassionate assistance
- Justice
- Missions
Our leadership team is growing and organic. Our structure is pretty flat and pragmatic. If someone has an idea for doing something worthwhile, it is the job of leaders to encourage their success in carrying out the task. The pastors serve as elders of CapChurch though they normally do not lead the meetings.
