FH Canada

The CapChurch mission to Uganda is under the banner of FH Canada. Our church has committed to 5 yearly visits to Makhai and Bufukhula beginning in 2005. The many children that CapChurch has “fostered” are through this agency. As well, Tim Hardy and Paddy Ducklow have visited Uganda, Congo and Rwanda with FH Canada.
Purpose Statement

The programs we have developed are designed around our three-fold purpose:

* To send appropriate resources, people and ideas to the countries in which FH Canada operates.
* To influence Canadian society as a positive advocate for the poor.
* To empower the Church in fulfilling holistic ministries locally and internationally.

Vision of Community

We apply a concept of Christian care and compassion called the Vision of a Community (VOC). Vision of a Community is the answer to this fundamental question: “If we are successful in God’s eyes in the work we do within a community, what does that community look like when we leave?”

VOC is being implemented when a community and its people . . .

* are advancing towards their God-given potential
* are equipped to progress beyond meeting their basic need
* have a growing group of Christians among them, who are loving God and one another, living compassionately and reaching out to serve others.

It is our desire to see VOC growing in the international fields where we work and in Canada.
Philosophy

Using the lens of theological engagement, FH Canada emphasizes financial accountability, sustainability, pursuit of justice, and the service of the poor.

FH Canada builds relational partnerships with supporters, donors, charitable foundations, the business community, program beneficiaries, other Non Governmental Organizations, and Government agencies. Together with our Canadian and international partners, we are

* serving churches in their efforts to reach out
* supporting leaders in their efforts to solve community problems
* and helping families meet each other’s needs.

When all three groups are working together towards achieving VOC, we believe our purpose in fulfilling the vision is complete.
