Today, our 4th Sunday in the Book of Hebrews, we fix our eyes on Jesus. It stretches our minds and hearts to consider this Jesus: both God and human at the same time, tempted in every way, but without sin, all-knowing and yet learning obedience from his time on earth. The Bible is full of this kind of tension, as is the Book of Hebrews. Instead of shying away from it, we are going to sit with it today, and see how the Spirit is working in the midst of, maybe even because of the tensions inherent in God’s Word, and in our own lives.
