cap kids

CapKids is our Sunday program for kids ages 0 to grade 8. But this isn’t your Mama’s Sunday School. This is a place where together with you and your child we will discover the character and grace that God is building into our young Capper’s.

Here are 5 of our priorities

  1. Our first priority is that your kids have awesome relationships with God and with one another. Nothing less. No nominalism. We expect much fun and enthusiasm.
  2. We also seek to cultivate inspirited ministry with one another. We plan on giving your kids a better chance than any of us have had in prayer, simple care for others, missions-consciousness, joyful and happy worship and the like.
  3. We also want to teach our children to worship – not just sing. Through the “creative arts” of drama, dance, song, music, prayer and with all their energies.
  4. We expect CapKids to be a safe place for kids to grow up. We will not tolerate any bullying, prejudice or other harm. (Please see our CapSafe document.)
  5. We are also focusing on you as parents. You have the priority privilege to raise your children to maturity – and we wish to offer our assistance. We will offer seminars 2 or 3 times a year for the church community and beyond. And also we will visit with you whenever you request our encouragement and skills.

Our commitment is to work with you – not substituting for you! Our CapKids ministry is unabashedly and delightedly “parent participation.” Your desire to have your children in CapKids is commitment on your part to join in with us for at least a “month of Sundays” each year. This means that you get to bring your skills, faith and joy to all of our children as you make special connection with your own.

We believe it takes more than a community to raise a child – it takes a church.
