A Wider Embrace

Three evenings of conversations and teaching…

In October 2022, CapChurch’s pastors and Governance Team invited the community to three evenings of teaching and conversation focussed on LGBTQ2S+ inclusion in our church.

The purpose of these nights was to share our convictions emerging from our last several years of study, listening, and discussion: that people of all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations must be lovingly welcomed into full participation in the life, ministry, and leadership of our church. As leaders, we did not presume all would share our convictions by the end of these evenings, but nevertheless, we sought to listen well and to learn from one another in the process.

Each evening included similar elements: teaching, a personal interview, and community response.
